Lawana said, "I took this photo of my friend Kaaronica while we were on vacation in August 1999 in Curacao, Netherlands Antilles with her Nikon 35mm. I had the strap around my neck. It was a clear night with no wind and the moon was out. We took it after a celebration of a major slave uprising on the island. Where we were was called the Rif, where the leaders were executed. Others have died there as well from drowning. We thought it was really unusual and I thought it looked like one of your supercharged orb photos. She had a videocamera, but the battery suddenly went dead during the ceremony. It worked fine as soon as we got back to our hotel room."
